Data protection and cyber resilience solutions provider Commvault has announced a partnership with IT compnay Kyndryl to expand its cyber resilience and data recovery services. The collaboration also includes Pure Storage and aims to support organisations in meeting regulatory requirements and improving recovery from cyber incidents.

The joint services will enhance Kyndryl’s cyber resilience offerings, including Cyber Incident Recovery, Managed Backup Services, and Hybrid Platform Recovery. The combined effort is intended to help organisations manage growing data volumes and respond to ransomware and other cyber threats across multi-cloud environments.

A key feature of the collaboration is a four-layer architecture provided by Commvault and Pure Storage. It is designed to support data recovery, ensure compliance, and reduce recovery time in hybrid cloud settings.

The first layer, Cyber Resilient Vault, isolates backup data using zero-trust principles. The second, Clean Recovery Zone, offers a secure space for backup validation and forensic analysis. The third, Production Rapid Restore, enables fast data restoration with Pure Storage FlashBlade. The final layer, Immutable Snapshot Recovery, uses application-consistent snapshots to support recovery of critical workloads.

The solution also supports automated testing for cyber recovery. Commvault Cleanroom Recovery is included and can be deployed both in public cloud environments and in isolated on-premises setups managed by Kyndryl.

“Cyber preparedness is no longer regarded as optional for global organisations; it is mandatory,” stated Allen Downs, Vice President of Security and Resiliency Services at Kyndryl. “Through this collaboration with Commvault and Pure Storage, we are further positioned to assist some of the world’s most esteemed organisations in completely redefining their data protection strategies.”
